Animal records

DAISY keeps everything from the animal’s official ID to its full life history in a single system. The records are the foundation for everything that comes after.

Registry-based identification

Every animal is identified by its number in ENAR (the Hungarian national cattle registry), in the standard format. Formatting is automatic, imports are screened for duplicates, and you can look up any animal in the herd by its ID in seconds.

Three-generation pedigree

A visual pedigree card on both the dam’s and the sire’s line, three generations deep. Handles external, donor and herd-book parents alike. Offspring are listed as cards on the same screen.

Life history

A chronological event log per animal: birth, purchase, sale, culling, castration, treatments, weighings, herd moves, breeding events — on a single timeline. Filterable and exportable.

Ear-tag inventory

You work with two stocks: the replacement-tag store (request → order → goods-in workflow) and the newborn stock (with pre-allocated ID ranges). Entry by barcode or by hand, with spreadsheet import. Low-stock alerts and a monthly usage report are included.

Bulk import

Load your herd from CSV, XLS or XLSX files. The steps: header matching, data preview and editing, validation, parent linking. Separate import screens exist for master data, lactation data, event logs and official breeding-data files.

Purchase intake with QR codes

Multi-step purchase recording: receipt and stamp capture, QR scanning or manual entry, review and save. Handles conflict detection, reactivation and handover. At the end of intake, the official notification file for NÉBIH (the Hungarian food-chain safety authority) is generated in one step — ready for you to upload.

Performance measurement

Performance is measurable — per animal, per group, across the whole herd. From on-farm performance testing through milk production to genomic values, all the data connects.

On-farm performance testing (ÜSTV)

Group weight tracking for the Hungarian on-farm performance test (ÜSTV), with individual and average weight curves. Calculates ADG (average daily gain in g/day), analyzes by sire line, and keeps conformation-scoring records.

Fattening batches

Track fattening groups per weighing interval and cumulatively. Interval ADG and cumulative ADG are calculated separately, compared against the target weight, and mortality is followed. Feed cost is priced out per kilogram of gain, with comparative analysis across groups.

Feed rations

A ration editor with nutrient composition, a product catalog and fattening-plan phases. Daily consumption is tracked and can be corrected. Stock management (warehouse, deliveries, orders) runs in the same place, and lab analyses arrive integrated.

Milk production and lactation curves

Daily milk yield (liters, kg/day) and visualized lactation curves. Tracks milk composition trends (fat, protein, lactose %), calculates ECM, identifies top-producing cows, and prepares a herd-level revenue calculation.

SCC and udder health

Time-series analysis of somatic cell counts at animal and herd level. Breakdown by barn, infection dynamics, post-calving SCC tracking, SCC distribution. Threshold-based culling candidates — it flags mastitis before the clinical signs.

Genomics and breeding values

Manages genomic reports and presents them as trait cards with reliability percentages. The calf-rearing index scores a dam’s mothering ability in beef herds; growth indices measure an animal’s growth at 130, 205 and 365 days of age, corrected for age in days. Offspring performance and breeding-value trends on one panel.

Heat-cycle monitor and conception probability

Heat-cycle tracking per animal, with no sensors. Conception probability computed from breeding and calving history, with a predicted calving date. From your calving and heat records the system learns each animal’s cycle length, so heat detection gets more accurate over time. Heat windows and the pregnancy-check calendar update automatically.

Animal health

From the protocol editor to the regulator-compliant medication log: the animal-health workflow is structured, documented and controlled.

Visual protocol editor

A drag-and-drop block editor with six node types: treatment, observation, decision, wait, notification, trigger. Layout is arranged automatically. Build your own protocols from block templates, or start from clinical workflows validated by colleagues on the marketplace.

Pharmacy

A three-tab pharmacy: needs (stock below minimum), active orders, and inventory. The full medicine catalog is managed by active substance, category and packaging, per batch, with expiry tracking. The antibiotics register follows the official format, and withdrawal periods are applied automatically.

QuickVetSheet — fast treatment entry

A mobile-optimized veterinary panel with four diagnosis categories: udder, hoof, reproduction, other. The diagnosis picker leads straight to dosing by body weight and age. At the end, session management enrolls the animal into a protocol with one tap.

Protocol execution

Active protocols guide you step by step: inline task forms, automatic next step, postponement handling. The state-machine logic handles decision branches, parallel fork/joins and timeout-based transitions.

Reports and medication log

Treatment statistics by category, with medication-use analysis, date filters and XLSX export. Scheduled e-mail delivery — daily, weekly or monthly — in the official antibiotics-report format.

Health status monitors

Automatic alerts for the four main dairy health problems: milk-fever prevention, mastitis, lameness, reproductive health. The monitors are filter-based and configurable with your own conditions. Event triggers connect to protocols — a signal becomes a task.

Regulatory reporting

What you record during the daily work assembles itself into the regulatory report. DAISY prepares the file — handing it in stays your job, and stays in your hands.

Stock-change report

The annual stock-change report assembles itself month by month. The system sorts animals into the correct age groups and tells you when something does not add up. You hand the finished report in, in the officially accepted format — and if you spot a mistake, you can reopen and fix it before handing it in.

Grazing journal

Record once which herd grazes where — from then on the journal keeps itself, by grazing method. The official grazing journal is tied to your registered locations, so there is no separate notebook for which animal was on which pasture.

Birth and mortality journals

Calving, death, culling, purchase — whatever you record during the work, the daily journal builds itself from it. For a newborn, the sire, the dam, the breed, the sex and the ear tag fall into place on their own; for a culling you only give the reason.

Breeding journals

Natural service and artificial insemination in one place, going back years. The bull, the cow and the calf that is born link up on their own, so ancestry stays traceable end to end — in the format the official breeding-journal form requires.

Reproduction KPIs

Per herd and for any period, see how the herd performs: calving interval, services per conception, age at first calving, how easily the cows calve, weaning results, and which bull the better calves come from.

Stock movement

For a sale, a death or a loss, prepare the off-movement report individually or in bulk from a filtered list, in a few taps. When buying, scan the QR code on each cattle passport with your phone camera — a whole group in one go if you like — and the on-movement report is ready at the press of a button. Transfers between your own premises are batch, too: select the animals, give the target premises code, and DAISY prepares the report. The finished file is yours to upload to the registry.

Platform & integration

DAISY works in the background: an installable app, offline-first operation, multi-premises management, voice control, push notifications. The infrastructure is reliable, the interface is fast.

Installable PWA, offline-first

A standalone web app you install on phones and tablets. Usable even with poor signal: data you have opened stays available offline, and new entries sync automatically when the connection returns.

Multiple premises in one

Animals from several registered premises are managed on one shared screen — for example in mixed breeding herds. The daily work runs as one, but DAISY prepares the regulatory reports split per premises code automatically. No sorting by hand.

Dézi, the AI voice assistant

A voice-controlled assistant — currently speaking Hungarian. Query your data, listen to reports, manage stock, start a feed order — all by voice. Dézi answers legal and professional questions from vetted literature, and can be taught your farm’s own jargon.

Push notifications

Web Push integration: an in-app notification panel, an unread badge, automatic subscription at login. Notification triggers are protocol- and monitor-based.

Mobile-first interface with dark mode

Swipe-based navigation on mobile, sidebar and split-screen layout on desktop. Dark mode follows the operating system setting, with touch-friendly buttons and responsive breakpoints.

Locations

Buildings and pastures on one map, with dynamic attributes and GPS coordinates. Pastures can carry a grass-composition profile, capacity is tracked in livestock units, and weather integration is available per location.
